Reflection on John 1:35-51

One day. That was how long the first two disciples stayed with Jesus before they knew. One day and they were sure.

HE is the One.
HE is the Rescuer.

In this short section of scripture many things happen...

• The first two disciples spend a day with Jesus and come away convinced that He is the Messiah.
• Simon meets Jesus for the first time and gets a new identity: Peter.
• Jesus has knowledge of Nathaniel's whereabouts that are beyond normal understanding. 
• The disciples will see an "open connection between heaven and earth as the Son of Man ministers in their midst." - Darrell L. Bock 

We also see that in just 16 verses Jesus is named FIVE different ways:

1. The Lamb of God
2. The Messiah
3. The Son of God
4. The King of Israel
5. The Son of Man
