Daughters of Delight is a name that reminds us that our relationship with the Lord is not one of duty but of
GREAT DELIGHT.
We were
created for a relationship with the Lord that satisfies our souls in a way that
nothing else can. We want to encourage one another to
‘delight [ourselves] in the Lord’ Psalm 37:4!
We also want to remember that the Lord delights in us. What a beautiful reality that the
God of the universe finds joy in us:
The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you” Zephaniah 3:17.
The truth of the gospel is that the Father
send His son to die in our place so that we could be adopted as His sons & daughters.
We are not only justified (declared ‘innocent’) when we put our faith in Jesus and His perfect
obedient life lived for us, we are also adopted by the Father into His family and receive the privilege of a heavenly inheritance and eternal life with Him. Just
as He delights in His Son, He also delights in all those who have believed
in the Son and have His Spirit living in them.
May we grow in this communion with the Lord taking great delight
in Him (Psalm 37:4), in His commands (Psalm 1:2, 112:1, 119) and in knowing that we
are also delighted in by the Maker of the stars!
