Leslie's Reflection

Cuddled in bed tonight, my son chose the story of John to read.

This man dressed in rough camel hair clothing, sticky with wild honey and eating locusts is just too enticing and vivid a story for my little guy not to pour over.

While reading with him, I was struck once again by the words of John as he met Jesus at the waters edge: "The Lamb of God...God's best lamb...who takes away the sins of the whole world" (Jesus Storybook Bible).

Our glorious Saviour Jesus glorified God the Father by laying down his life for us. This was ALWAYS the plan (1 Peter 1:20) and Jesus is at this very moment exulted in heaven as the crucified and resurrected Christ: "because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation" (Revelations 5:9).

It is truly incredible to hear the words of a humble man of the desert prophetically proclaiming the ONE and ONLY hope for humanity.
