He is Our Devoted Hero

Praise the Lord that He is passionately devoted to bringing about His plan of salvation. Pray that you would know how high and wide and long and deep is the love of Christ  for you. Pray that  you would be filled to the measure of the fullness of God. 

Read Isaiah 9:7

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
    will make this happen!

The LORD's intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.

I love this verse. It does not just say “the Lord will do this”,  but the zeal of the Lord will do this. It is the passion of the Lord that will accomplish this. This is in God’s  heart. There is intensity in His heart to accomplish this plan. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies WILL make this happen. The passion and desire of God’s heart is fixed on bringing about redemption. The zeal of our Lord is fixed on shining His light into this broken world, bringing true joy, ending all pain and brokenness, and bringing true peace.

We have heard and seen with eyes of faith how God began this plan by sending His Son in His first coming and we eagerly await His second coming. Our Saviour has come as a suffering Servant and we await the day He comes as a conquering King who defeats all our enemies and heals every hurt.

Though we may go through seasons where we are dry, lacking zeal and passionate devotion to God, He is never lacking in zeal toward us. He never waivers in His passionate commitment toward us. He never grows tired in His commitment to bring about the fullness of our salvation. Though we go through seasons where we start things we fail to complete, He will always finish what He has started. He who began a good work in you WILL bring it to completion (Phil 1:6). He will come back (1 Thess 4:16-17). He will destroy death (Rev 21:4). He will rule forever (Rev11:15). He will make all things new (Rev 21:5). 

The zeal of the Lord of host will do this.
