He is Our Eternal King

Praise the Father for Christ’s eternal Kingdom. Pray that  your lost family & friends would be delivered from the Kingdom of darkness and  transferred to the Kingdom of His Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Read Isaiah 9:7

Of the increase of his government and of peace
    there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
    to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
    from this time forth and forevermore.

What hope do you receive from this passage?

What was God’s promise to David in 2 Samuel 7:11-13?

This is amazing. David wanted to build a house for God, but God says “No, I will establish a house for you!” God would raise up a king in the line of David that would rule forever!

Did Mary know that her baby would be the eternal King in the line of David that would be the fulfillment of this prophecy in Isaiah 9:7? See Luke 1:29-33.

His rule began at His first coming. Praise the Lord. His rule begins right now. What did He announce? Repent! For the KINGDOM of the Lord is at hand! We get to be a part of His Kingdom of light today. We get to be a part of His mission of seeing the Kingdom of light extinguish the darkness and bring His rule and reign into every area of our lives and into this broken world that is desperate for hope. He is our mighty King, ruling from heaven now, but we await the day that His rule will be abundantly clear to all.

Isaac Watts wrote the glorious hymn, Joy to the World, after reflecting on Psalm 98: “Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!” It truly is a hymn of joyous praise, and although we sing it at Christmas time, much of the song points to glorious realities of Jesus’ Second Coming. Take some time to meditate on the truths of this timeless hymn.

Joy to the world! The Lord is come
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing

Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
