He is Our Victory

Praise the Lord that He ends all war and will bring true peace. Pray that we would rejoice in His victory of sin, Satan, death and hell and hope in the great day when all battles will cease.

Read Isaiah 9:5

For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult
and every garment rolled in blood
will be burned as fuel for the fire.

All military fatigues, all combat boots, all swords and spears, all bows, all chariots, all bombers, all guns, all battle tanks, all weapons of mass destruction that have caused pain and devastation all over the world will be thrown in to a bonfire.

Praise the Lord.

Jesus will bring everlasting peace. Charles Spurgeon says “The prince of peace wars against war, and destroys it.” What we long for in a leader, in a country, will come to fruition. He wins the true and lasting victory. He brings true and lasting peace.

Do you begin to see from this passage how the Israelites were hoping for their Messiah to be a conquering King? It is because He will be a conquering King. They just didn’t understand that He must come twice.  But the prophecies point to Him not only as a conquering King, but as our suffering Saviour. Jesus came the first time as the suffering servant, offering His kingdom to all who repent and believe and trust in Him for salvation. The next time He comes He will come as the conquering King who will end all war, all evil, all darkness, and who will even destroy death itself. Praise the Lord for our conquering King. We eagerly await His return.

REFLECT - Grab your Bible, journal & a pen.
