Praise the Lord that He is one with wisdom and judgment beyond our comprehension and can guide our lives and the affairs of our world for His glory. Ask Him for the wisdom you need in all the situations that you face.

Wonderful Counselor...
This child introduced in the beginning of the verse will have four glorious names. I want you to see the first name in an individual sense and in a corporate sense. Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. He is a wonder of a counselor to us. He is one whose counsel will fill your heart with awe and wonder at His understanding of you and his sympathizing with your situation. The world finds psychologists and psychiatrists, and counselors, but Jesus is the ultimate counselor. Many people might feel that nobody understands them. They exclaim ‘nobody knows what its like to be in my shoes!” Well, we could never say that about Jesus. Jesus took on flesh so that He would know and experience the struggles and temptations and trials that humans face. He was tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin (Heb 4:15). He is a counselor that we can draw near to, to find mercy and grace in our time of need.
Write out Psalm 32:8. What stands out to you in this passage?
He is intimately involved in your life. There are 7.8 billion people on this planet and yet the Lord still cares deeply about every aspect of your life. He cares about your singleness, your marriage, your kids or grandkids, your hurts, your fears, your burdens, & your joys. Because God is infinite He has an infinite capacity to care for each and every one of us and each and every situation going on in our lives. That is amazing. The Lord has an understanding of you that you could never fathom. He understands each and every one of us perfectly. He understands us better than we understand ourselves. He made you and wired you as you are and He knows your temperament, emotions, personality, and even your sense of humor. This is why he is qualified as the best and the most wonderful counselor. Nobody knows you like He does and nobody has insight and wisdom like He does. He is the one we can trust to lead and guide us in any and every situation.
He is also a wonderful counselor over the world. He alone has wisdom and insight to set forth wondrous counsel and rule our world. No one has counsel and plans like Jesus. His judgments are like the great deep. Unlike human governments, whose best attempts will still never bring about the hoped for future in its fullness, Jesus’ will bring about true peace.
He is the wonderful counselor that we need.
